Hindustan Trading Company has been in the business of selling stationery and fine art material for over four decades and has carved out a niche for being a guiding voice to artists and amateurs in Chennai, South India.

I redesigned the logo to reflect the store's longstanding presence, catering primarily to professional artists and amateurs. Drawing inspiration from traditional techniques, the logo was initially conceptualized digitally and then hand-painted with watercolours. Finally, it was scanned at high resolution, reflecting a beautiful amalgamation of craftsmanship, heritage and contemporary technology.

About

Tharini Sankarasubramanian is a high-energy, versatile, and organized designer, visual artist, and creative storyteller who consistently executes and delivers at a high level. Her work spans cultural projects, brand storytelling, and collaborations with artists, galleries, non-profits, and start-ups.

Tharini holds an MFA in Graphic Design and Visual Experience from the Savannah College of Art and Design. She is currently based in New York City.
