Come Together, an interactive puzzle that captures the essence of social movements in the United States. 

This is the textual version, bearing the phrase 'Land of the free, Home of the brave,' which unveils a crossword upon completion. This crossword weaves together various movements, including Black Power, Suffrage, Civil Rights, Counterculture, Occupy, Non-violent protest, and the Voting Rights Act. Come Together invites participants to solve the puzzle which reveals the interconnected threads of movements that have pushed society toward revolution and transformation. 

The puzzle was chosen as the medium to conceptually express unity as it visually embodies pieces coming together to form a whole. It is accompanied with a dictionary that briefly explains each movement. 

Utilizing a range of tools and technologies, including laser cutting for puzzle pieces and the acrylic box, UV-printing, as well as the software for designing the puzzle and the book. This project integrates traditional craftsmanship with contemporary methods. 







About


Tharini Sankarasubramanian is a high-energy, versatile, and organized designer, visual artist, and creative storyteller who consistently executes and delivers at a high level. Her work spans cultural projects, brand storytelling, and collaborations with artists, galleries, non-profits, and start-ups. 

Tharini holds an MFA in Graphic Design and Visual Experience from the Savannah College of Art and Design. She is currently based in New York City.
